  • The National Green Tribunal (NGT) directs Indian Oil Corporation Limited Panipat, Haryana refinery  to pay 25 crore rupees because Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s Panipat refinery in Haryana has failed to take effective and adequate steps for pollution control.
  •  “Godhan nyay yojna” launched on 20 July 2020 in chhattisgarh on the festivel of hareli. Govt aims  to boost the rural economy. Under the scheme, government will procure cow dung at Rs 2 per kilogram from livestock owners and use it to prepare organic fertilizers.
  • China successfully launched its first Mars mission on 23 July 2020. Name of Chinese Mars probe is “Tianwen 1” or Quest for “Heavenly Truth 1”. Scientific objectives of this mission: orbiting the red planet for comprehensive observation, landing on Martian soil and sending a rover to roam the landing site. It will conduct scientific investigations into the planet’s soil, geological structure, environment, atmosphere and water.
  • Airtel Payments Bank Ltd has collaborated with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to train and skill young people in rural areas on financial services, enabling them to find jobs and become entrepreneurs in the sector.
  • Facebook announces App Lock, privacy controls for Messenger. Now Facebook Messenger will have an extra layer of security and an App Lock feature. The Messenger app can use a device’s built-in fingerprint or face authentication security feature to unlock the application.
